Gregg and I watched a video about carbon nanotube body armor. In the video, the company representative made some claims about Kevlar that made us both go, “hmmmmm”. We took an old vest with over 10,000 hours/5 years of use and shot it multiple times to see how many 9mm bullets it would stop. Since millions of people currently rely on Kevlar to protect them, we wanted to do an informal test of our own just to settle the argument. Most agencies have not approved the use of “CN” type armor and have limited budgets, so Kevlar will be around for some time. It only does harm to make false-claims about a product.
