DIN rail mounting surge protector with uninspiring safety device.

Published on June 21, 2017

At first glance, the construction of this device is pretty neat. Good robust casing with solid contacts. It’s a surge suppressor based on pluggable MOV (Metal Oxide Varistor) modules that have a safety cut-out and flag system to show when they have failed thermally.
I’m not convinced in the functioning of the safety disconnect mechanism though.
