This is an actual product available on eBay. As soon as I found out about them I ordered a set, and about 6 weeks later they arrived.
Initially I thought it was going to be a simple straight section of flexible PCB with a row of LEDs in parallel and a couple of thin wires going back to a battery pack with a switch and resistor. But it’s a lot more complicated than that, yet also very simple. The real work is in the software.
