C-130 Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System (MAFFS) Ground Discharge Test

Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System training performed at Peterson Air Reserve Base, Colorado. The 731st Air Lift Squadron with two C-130’s loaded with MAFFS performed this training. Training consists of two air crews that perform simulated retardant drops over three specified areas. The drops consist of water instead of retardant for training purposes. The United States Air Force, United States Forest Service, and United States Bureau of Land Management has teamed up for this training in preparation of fire season 2012. Stringer Includes : Two C-130 air crews perform training on the MAFFS and perform a demonstration for Distinguished Visitor General Jacoby on the flightline.
