Bomber Assurance and Deterrence (BAAD) Operations: B-52 Heavy Bomber Takeoff/Landing at RAF Fairford

A B-52 Stratofortess takes off and lands at Royal Air Force Fairford in order to provide simulated close air support in Estonia and Latvia. The airmen are deployed to RAF Fairford for a 3 week deployment supporting Bomber Assurance and Deterrence (BAAD) operations. The Pentagon regularly conducts combined theater security cooperation engagements with allies and partners, demonstrating the U.S. capability to command, control and conduct bomber missions across the globe. Bomber Assurance and Deterrence missions demonstrate the credibility and flexibility of our forces to address today’s complex, dynamic and volatile global security environment.
