As part of NASA’s 2013 Reel Science Communications program, student Michelle Ko from Pasadena California worked with NASA scientists and communications specialists to produce this impressive video about wild fires–biomass burning. She includes satellite observations from NASA’s Terra satellite to tell the story about sources of biomass burning and the global impact of these fires. Advanced satellite observations and computer modeling are providing scientists with a better understanding and quantifying biomass burning, an important player in the future of our global environment and ecosystems.
