When Android tablets first hit shelves, the level of optimized content was laughable. Tablets defaulted to the vertical smartphone interface and there was next to no multimedia or applications that took advantage of the larger display.
You still hear the same thing today. “There are no great apps for Android tablets.” And while, comparatively, Android tablets aren’t graced with hundreds of thousands of optimized apps like iPads, there is plenty of content to go around, thanks to Google encouraging developers to follow its design guidelines and even updating its own poorly-optimized apps.
