“Bad Ass My Crossbow” Stage One04:33

In the last video, The Slingshot Channel reviewed the Eagle 3 crossbow (aka Python, Mankung etc, etc,), a cheap 150 lb weapon. The outcome was fairly positive – good value for the money. The main disadvantage: Relatively slow reloading – (16 to 17 seconds). But that is actually not even bad for crossbows, which are traditionally slow reloaders,

The Slingshot Channel started the promised overhauling of the Taiwanese product by attaching a magazine to the weapon. It holds a maximum of up to six unfletched bolts that are pressed down by rubber bands attached to a wooden sled. Every time the crossbow string is drawn back, a bolt automatically snaps into position no matter how the weapon is held.

To further accelerate the loading process, the crossbow string is cushioned by rubber tubes, adding comfort to the fingers. This eliminates the need for gloves. A rubber pad attached to the butt end of the stock allows to press the end of the weapon to the chest of the shooter for cocking, so the weapon does not have to be put to the ground for cocking anymore.

The theoretical shot rate now goes up to about 10 shots per minute, more than three times higher than before.

The weapon is still capable to hit a (brain sized) coconut from a typical “Daryl Dyxon” distance of about 7 meters, thanks to the inexpensive red dot sights that have replaced the original iron sights.

A “The Slingshot Channel” production!
