US Marines AV-8B Harrier II with 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), night vertical landing to the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Boxer (LHD-4).
The Harrier jet engine is fitted with two air intakes and four vectoring nozzles for directing the thrust generated: two for the bypass flow and two for the jet exhaust. Two of these nozzles are located near the forward, cold end of the engine and two are near the rear, hot end of the engine.

アメリカ海兵隊･第13海兵遠征部隊のAV-8BハリアーII攻撃機の、強襲揚陸艦ボクサー(LHD-4)への夜間垂直着陸。
ハリアー攻撃機には胴体脇の4ヶ所にエンジンノズルが付いており、ターボファンから排出される低温の空気が前部2つのノズルへ、ジェットエンジン本体からの高温の排気ガスが後部2つのノズルへ噴出される。
