The “Auto Culture” automatic cell culturing system from Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) is a system of robotic operations that culture cells necessary for the research of new drugs and for research in the tissue engineering field. The new system automates all the operations in the cell cultivation process including even the cumbersome processes. When cells are loaded, the system automatically implements scheduling of all processes through the unloading of the cultures, and the operations are then automatically implemented based on that scheduling. To achieve this, the system uses no human intervention, achieves a class 100 or lower clean environment, and prevents cross contamination using an alcohol spray function.
