James L. Carey, MD, is the Director of the Penn Cartilage Center, where he specializes in advanced and innovative methods of cartilage repair. In this brief video, Dr. Carey discusses the Center and its goals, and is seen performing an advanced method of cartilage restoration, autologous chondrocyte implantation, that uses the patient’s own chondrocytes to repair cartilage defects at the knee.
