At the recent WorldSkills Calgary 2009 competition, Autodesk played a key role as Platinum Sponsor of the event, which was designed to raise the awareness of the importance of skills, trades and technologies around the world. More than 150,000 people attended, with Autodesk also serving as a Presenting Sponsor of the Mechanical Engineering Design competition. As part of its overall sponsorship, Autodesk provided its Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Maya and AutoCAD software for use by competitors, which was then donated to Canadian schools following the event.
