Many people might assume that every hard drive is the same, except for capacity. But this is not the case, and there are actually many classes and types of hard drives for different purposes and situations. For example, there are NAS drives meant to be used for storage in an array of other drives. There are enterprise drives which are made for maximum reliability. There are even speciality hard drives such as surveillance drives for security cameras, and archival data-center drives for cold storage of data.
