Apple offers a battery replacement at $29, now sooner than promised

It was a week back when old iPhone users reported a sudden battery issue in iPhones which turned out into a freaking lawsuit against Apple from various places. Within a week Apple came under three lawsuits from different places. Users framed Apple for allegedly down the battery capacity of iPhones.

The iPhone users reported a sudden decrease in performance and rapid battery depletion in all old models of iPhone and also claimed that after visiting in stores they have been pitched to upgrade to a newer variant. After coming into five lawsuits Apple gave an official announcement that users can get their battery replaced in just $29 in place of $79.

Apple published a letter to its customers, apologizing for the slowing down of batteries in older iPhones. Earlier it was in the news that Apple will be providing the batteries in late January but a new announcement clears that it will now be available from now. In a conversation with media brand The Verge, the company said: “we expected to need more time to be ready, but we are happy to offer our customers the lower pricing right away.”

Earlier the company announced that the initial discounted battery replacement will be done in late January and the initial supplies may be limited but it has come up in action from today itself.

The company accepted that the slowing down of older iPhone models is to compensate for aging batteries. It is also expected that this battery replacement will again boost up the performance of older iPhone models. So, for now, there would be no more legal lawsuit against Apple. Some analyst also confirmed that the slowing down was done from the company’s end but the officials are saying that this is the issue of aging of a battery which can be solved with the replacement of old batteries with a new one.
