Aegis Ashore (AAMDS) Protecting Europe from Missile Threats – イージス･アショア(地上型イージス)がミサイルの脅威から欧州を守る
The U.S. Navy achieved operational certification of the Aegis Ashore Missile Defense System (AAMDS) site at Deveselu Air Force Base in Romania, May 12, 2016. This officially fulfills Phase II of the European Phased Adaptive Approach, a plan to protect deployed US forces and European allies from ballistic missile attack.
One Aegis Ashore site composed of land type SPY-1 radar, three Mk 41 VLS and twenty four SM-3 missiles.

アメリカ海軍の地上配備型イージス・ミサイル防衛システム｢イージス・アショア｣サイトの運用が、2016年5月12日にルーマニアのデベセル空軍基地で開始された。
翌13日にポーランドで2基目のイージス・アショアが着工し、海上配備のイージス艦とでヨーロッパの同盟国を弾道ミサイル攻撃から防衛する。
1つのイージス・アショア・サイトは陸上型SPY-1レーダーと、8セルのMk 41 VLS(垂直発射システム)×3基、24基のSM-3ミサイルで構成される。
日本でも新しい弾道ミサイル防衛システムとしてイージス・アショアの配備が検討されている。
