A Swedish model and artist received rape threats after she posed with her hairy legs in a new Adidas ad.
Arvida Byström’s modeling work often subverts gender and beauty norms. But after posing in an Adidas ad with unshaved legs, there was an ugly, and threatening, outcry.
Some people call her unfeminine, while other have applauded her, saying she’s promoting positive body image. But these threats are clearly a high price to pay for her work.
