India is trying to bring sanitation to their rural areas through…Bollywood songs?
Almost 500 million Indians, or almost 40 percent of the population, do not have access to a toilet. But Bollywood is coming to the rescue.
The government has produced several Bollywood-style videos to raise awareness about the need for good hygiene. Its goal is to install more than 100 million toilets across the country by October 2019. The push is the country’s latest initiative as part of the Clean India Mission, which launched in 2014 to make the sanitation crisis a priority.
