Lisa Gade reviews the 2017 Samsung Notebook 9 (model NP900X3N-K04). She reviews the 13.3” model, and Samsung also offers a 15” model with a similar design and a few upgrades like NVIDIA 940MX graphics and a faster PCIe NVMe SSD. Check out our video review of the 15″ Notebook 9 here: .

The 13.3″ Notebook 9 competes with the slightly heavier LG Gram, and it’s for those who are looking for the most compact and light 13” Ultrabook available with full Intel Kaby Lake 7th gen Core i5 and i7 CPUs. The $999 model has the Intel Core i5-7200U, 8 gigs DDR4 RAM and a 256 gig SSD. The $1,199 model in this review has the Intel Core i7-7500U, 16 gigs DDR4 RAM and a 256 gig SSD.

A 350 nit 1920 x 1080 non-touch display with HDR mode and outdoor brightness mode (465 nits) is standard, as is a backlit keyboard, Intel 8265AC WiFi with Bluetooth, a 720p webcam, 2 USB 3.0 ports, 1 USB-C port, HDMI, a microSD card slot and 3.5mm audio jack. The laptop comes with a compact quick charger.
