The follow up video to this one.

In that previous video you see my Gopro Hero 3+ get pummeled by surging ocean water from a series of large breaking waves.
It gets hit and washed away.

This video shows it from the Gopro’s POV.
It was mounted on the Pakpod tripod.

In surfing terms this is getting rag dolled. Violently being tossed in every direction all at once as the wave drags you under the water and over the rocks and coral.
Pretty much anyone who has surfed on The Big Island of Hawaii has experienced this first hand and has the scars to prove it.

Even the deep water breaks.

This little park isn’t a surf spot but, the camera gives you an idea of what its like on a miniature scale.

I was also shooting with my Nikon D800 and as I saw that strong surge coming I stepped back. Knowing the Gopro might get washed away I just kept an eye on where it was being dragged to and got lucky as it caught on some rocks before being dragged out into the deep. Also, had a little time before then next big waves sent another surge of water even further inland.

Shot at a nice little coastal park that’s normally very calm.
Pahoehoe Beach Park in Kailua Kona, Hawaii.
The Big Island of Hawaii.

Shot this at sunset.

Headphone users will be fine. Gopro housing mutes the audio.

Thanks for subscribing and watching. Many more videos to come.
Be patient. What I do isn’t always easy.
