海上自衛隊・岩国航空基地(山口県)で行われた哨戒機や救難飛行艇などの航空機搭乗員の、極寒の海上への不時着水時のサバイバル(生存)訓練。
耐寒耐水服を着用して極寒の海上を漂流・救命ボートへの乗り込み、発煙筒や信号弾の発射手順などの訓練が毎年夏、冬の二回実施されている。
Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) aviators traveled to the harbor at JMSDF Iwakuni Air Base, Japan, to conduct winter survival training in case of an aircraft forced landing. Mandatory for all aviators and aircrew, the JMSDF conducts this training semi-annually, once in the summer and once in the winter.
