The U.S. Navy Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group conducts a simulated strait transit exercise off the coast of Southern California, Nov. 4, 2016.
The strait transit exercise was designed to test the participant ship’s ability to navigate safely, while also dealing with threats that could be encountered transiting straits in hostile waters.
