The Latest Smartwatch Features
The market for wearable technology continues to grow, with around 559.7 million units expected to be shipped globally through 2024.

It should come as no surprise that wearables are so popular, of course, as this technology continues to evolve with every new generation of device. As a result, they continue to grow in terms of functionality, whether you want to access the Indian code for Stake bet online or keep track of key health metrics in real-time.
But what are the modern smartwatch features that are most coveted in 2024? Here are a few to keep in mind!
The Dawn of Lightweight an Recyclable Devices
The Apple Watch Ultra has ushered in a new dawn in smartwatch design, boasting an improved (and much brighter) display and doubling the storage capacity of its predecessor.
This device is also manufactured using recycled titanium materials. This serves two key purposes: firstly, it contributes to an incredibly lightweight and wearable design, and at just 31 grams (without the band), it’s considerably lighter than any competing smartwatch.
This material is also completely recyclable, so the devices can be repurposed at the end of its cycle rather than simply committed to waste.
We’re seeing recyclable devices become increasingly popular in the wearables and smartwatch marketplace, and this trend will probably gather further momentum over time.
Increasingly Detailed Health Metrics
Google’s second-generation Pixel Watch 2 is another market leader, and one that’s defined by extended battery life and a much-improved Qualcomm processor.
Some pronounced ‘fitbit’ developments have also been made with this device, which can capture cEDA measurements and provide a ‘stress management’ score. As part of the device’s new stress management metrics, you can also log your mood manually and even undertake mindfulness sessions.
This reflects the contemporary focus on mental health and wellbeing, while highlighting how wearable devices can help us to take control of our minds and thought processes.
Elsewhere, the device boasts an improved skin temperature sensor. It also incorporates pace and heart rate zone alerts, which can be predetermined prior to workouts.
The Rise of Budget Smartwatches
While devices like the Apple Watch Ultra and Pixel Watch 2 may have advanced the wearables market at its upper end, we’ve also seen a plethora of budget devices appear in recent trends.
Take Amazon’s ‘Amazfit Balance’, for example, which costs just $200 or so and combines an elegant design with the lean (but functional) Zepp OS 3.0 operating system.
It also has a superb AMOLED display and an integrated mic with speaker, alongside GPS functionality and an exceptional battery life. This highlights a trend for highly capacious budget devices, with a growing number available in the current marketplace.
This offers an excellent alternative to some of the devices mentioned earlier in this piece, while it’s now the case that users can purchase lower price smartwatches without having to compromise too much on functionality.
