Microsoft to extend support for Windows 10 updates till 30 months

As per the IT pros they have found in the pace of Windows 10 feature updates which are said to be very fast. Microsoft is now said to be extending the support for the new feature updates to the operating system. The policy of the company which helps in the Microsoft releases which have got new feature updates which are around the month of March as well as in the month of September.

Now it seems that the company is moving to get a new support schedule for the Windows 10 Enterprise and Education editions which will be in effect. That will allow the users to only update the operating systems which are every other year.

At the first, Windows 10 Home, Pro and Office 365 ProPlus customers which have got nothing to change. This new feature will be coming twice a year for the updates which will be supported for about 18 months which is in both March and September feature releases. The Windows 10 Enterprise and Education customers are said to be the individuals who got affected by this changes from the company which was announced on 6th September 2018.

It has been seen that the currently supported feature updates of Windows 10 Enterprise and Education editions whose version are 1607, 1703, 1709 and 1803. These four versions will be supported for about 30 months or 2.5 years since the date of release. All the future feature updates of Windows 10 Enterprise and Education editions have got the targeted release for the month of September that will be supported for about 30 months from the date of release.

The future feature updates of Windows 10 Enterprise and Education editions which have with the targeted release month during the month of March. This will continue to get support for about 18 months from the month of release. As per the company officials, they said that in this 18-month support date will remain to get support to those who are OK with the faster Windows 10 feature update that has been rolling out.

As per Jared Spataro, who is the Corporate Vice President of Microsoft 365 said in a statement that the company has a believed that the customers are likely to get update in the fall due to the budget cycles but when they come to the high bandwidth conversations, they have got the updates that occur like Ignite, which is Microsoft’s IT Pro conference.
