Here’s a Sneak Peek at the Upcoming Sonos Wireless Headphones
According to a report by Bloomberg in February, Sonos is set to release its much-anticipated wireless headphones in June, delayed from May due to a software issue.
Sonos has not yet shared official details, but its Dutch authorized dealer Schuurman inadvertently revealed information and images prematurely. A member of a Sonos subreddit stumbled upon Schuurman’s posts (as mentioned by The Verge), after it was revealed that the headphones will be named the Sonos Ace.
The promotional materials suggest that the Sonos Ace will include the headphones, various cables, and a carrying case. The design appears to feature physical buttons and a toggle on the earpiece sections. The quality of the images shared was not high, making it difficult to assess the aesthetic quality of the headphones, though they appear to be an over-ear design. Schuurman’s price listing for the package is €403.58 (approximately $435), closely aligning with the $449 figure previously cited by Bloomberg.
As previously reported, Sonos CEO Patrick Spence sees the introduction of this new product line as a potential boost for the brand, which is renowned for its speakers and soundbars but has experienced lackluster sales in recent years. The new Ace headphones are designed to integrate seamlessly with existing Sonos products, offering direct streaming from TVs and music services via built-in Wi-Fi. Bloomberg also noted that Sonos might consider launching an in-ear version to rival products like Apple’s AirPods and others in the future.
