Google Pixel 9 and 9 Pro XL Leaked, Showcasing New Pink Color
With the launch of the Pixel 9 series just weeks away, a series of leaks have emerged, providing further insights into what Google’s latest flagship smartphones will offer. Recently released renders of the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro XL give a clear view of the devices, including a new pink color that appears less vibrant than earlier images suggested.
On Twitter/X, Sudhanshu Ambhore posted two renders that appear official, showing the Pixel 9 and what is believed to be the Pixel 9 Pro XL. It is difficult to confirm the latter since the Pixel 9 Pro and XL models look almost identical, though the XL appears larger in the images.
These new renders align perfectly with Google’s official images released last week. The Pixel 9 Pro XL is shown in a Porcelain color with a matte finish on the camera bar. Similarly, the standard Pixel 9 is depicted in a pink color variant.
Interestingly, both models seem to have the same finish on the rear glass, despite previous leaks indicating the base Pixel 9 would have a glossy back panel. This discrepancy might be due to the nature of the renders. Google’s renders of the glossy Pixel 8 also appeared matte until viewed from different angles.
The pink color in these new renders is darker than anticipated. A previous hands-on leak had shown the Pixel 9 in a more vibrant pink. This new depiction seems more realistic for Google but could be influenced by lighting or the camera used.
This pink variant also matches a previous leak of the Pixel Buds Pro 2, which were said to come in a Raspberry color. Earlier codenames identified the pink Pixel 9 as Peony, but codenames do not always match final marketing names. For example, the Pixel 8 series had codenames Peony Rose and Jade, which were marketed as Rose and Mint. Thus, the Peony Pixel 9 might eventually be sold as Raspberry. However, as with any leak, the accuracy is uncertain.
Google is scheduled to officially reveal the Pixel 9 series on August 13.
