Virtual Reality and Augmented reality are right now considered separate technologies. But I think in the future, both of these will eventually merge so that augmented reality can basically act as both. Augmented reality typically refers to adding some virtual parts to the current environment, while virtual reality means replacing the real environment completely. But at some point, augmented reality glasses would be able to do both. When that happens, we may see augmented reality everywhere, from walking down the street, to driving, to even creating our smart homes.
