*Making a trip to Southern California for the first time in 10 years had me seeing my old friends who can’t fly anymore. I also met up with my mentor, John Simone Jr. He taught me to fly helicopters and hired me to fly the F-16s in the Movie Blue Thunder. Folks thought the loop was a fake, since it was cut up. Here is the proof of what happened and more. Remember, no one was using reverse pitch rotor heads, so this was more difficult than you think at the time.
