A series of nighttime photos were taken by ESA astronaut Paolo Nespoli to create this time-lapse of Earth as seen from the International Space Station, flying over Earth from Spain to Russia.

ESA astronaut Paolo Nespoli is currently working and living on board the International Space Station as part of the Italian Space Agency’s long-duration VITA mission. He returns to Earth on 14 December 2017.
