AC voltage is represented by Root Mean Square.
It means maximum voltage is RMS * 1.414. ex : 240V rms maximum voltage is 340V.
Although you disconnect the capacitor from the AC power, some electrical charge is remain there. Maximum voltage is RMS * 1.414.
If you touch the two electrode at once, you will get hurt.
