The device allows you to view and create holograms in your own home.
If you were ever in need of a personal volumetric display, you can now get one. A startup, called Looking Glass, has developed a display for the home that allows you to see 3D content and interact with it, without the need for a headset. The display, called Volume, uses a technology the company developed called lightfolding. Millions of points of colored lights are projected into a glass cube to create the display.
For now, it appears to be geared primarily toward a niche market of tech lovers and developers who want to create content for this kind of platform – and are prepared to pay $999.
