There’s an ALIVE CRITTER desperately trying to get out of my Rain Down Spout?!

The racket of something frantically trying to get out of my rain down spout had me tearing it open. I did not want to see it suffer while waiting for it to die (for who knows how long) no matter what it was, so I opened it. Everybody gets a second chance. Can you guess what it actually was?
