A NASA press briefing broadcast on NASA TV included discussions about the scientific aspects of LADEE, the agency’s next lunar mission. The Lunar Atmosphere and Dust Environment Explorer spacecraft will launch from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport’s Pad 0B at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility on September 6 on a mission to orbit our moon and gather detailed information about the structure and composition of the lunar atmosphere and determine if dust is being lofted into the lunar sky. This research will help us better understand other bodies in the solar system.
