Theo Jansen is a Dutch physicist and artist, who has created a range of wind powered Strandbeests (beach monsters). This science kit allows you to create your own miniature working model of a Strandbeest. It includes a 30 page colour booklet, containing a lot of information about Theo Jansen and his mechanical marvels, as well as full instructions for creating your own miniature version.
Once you have built the mini Strandbeest, it will ‘walk’ when powered by the wind, or you can blow on the propeller or use a fan, which will give the same effect.
