NASA Public Affairs Officer Brandi Dean speaks with Dr. Sam Durrance of the Florida Institute of Technology about his space station research NanoRacks Self Assembly in Biology and Origins of Life, launching soon on the next Dragon cargo ship. The experiment will grow protein fibers implicated in Alzheimer’s disease for comparison with fibers grown on Earth to improve our understanding of neurodegenerative diseases and potentially lead to the development of new treatment methods.
