Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman’s corruption sweep is his latest attempt to transform the face of Saudi Arabia.

In the past two years, the “Millennial Prince” has reined in the religious police in the country, permitted women to drive, introduced movie theaters, allowed women to attend sporting events, and arrested radical Islamic preachers. Many of these new policies have been celebrated as a step towards progress in the Kingdom.

However, some are accusing the latest arrests of being an attempt to gain more power. Prince Salman oversaw the detaining of 11 Saudi princes, 4 ministers and dozens of others.

Still, others billed it as a key step towards the creation of a new order. More than 1.5 million tweets by Saudis under 35 expressed their support for the arrests. Since Saudi citizens are now predominantly millennials, will they be on board?
