Professor Toshikazu Wada from Wakayama University is researching a system that can leave a trajectory in three-dimensional space using a system that can track three-dimensionally in real time.
Rather than merely focusing on the image, the system also gathers three-dimensional coordinates of the target object. As a result, the system can present an image that corresponds to those coordinates. In other words, an image that is dependent on the user’s viewpoint can be displayed.
Using this, an image is drawn in space and the drawing result is displayed as 3D content, leaving a 3D trajectory in the working space.
Professor Wada stated that the technology can be used in three-dimensional designs and video games.
