Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus is preparing its next-generation OnePlus 6 handset for launch this year. According to numerous reports, the device developer will take the wraps off the flagship handset sometime this or next month. The upcoming device will be called the ‘flagship killer’, and it will feature some of the best specifications that one can think of as such. Ahead of its launch, there have been numerous leaks and speculations regarding the device that is circulating online. Let’s talk about all the rumours and speculations about the upcoming smartphone:
DESIGN
The most significant element in the OnePlus six smartphone, especially when it comes to its design, is that the firm has decided to integrate the first notch. For those who aren’t aware, the first notch trend was kick-started by Apple with the launch of their 10th-anniversary-device iPhone X. The OnePlus officials refer to the area at the top of the screen as the first notch. In fact, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau even provided a reason as to why they have decided to pack the front groove on the smartphone. Notably, the earpiece, as well as the front-facing camera, will be placed on the front notch. The smartphone manufacturer is also expected to introduce more colours with its upcoming OnePlus 6 smartphone. The company has a knack for adding its devices in different colours each year. At first, they started with the ceramic colour variant.
The Chinese company followed it up with wood back, and the trend is going on ever since. Recently, there was an image, assumed to be leaked, that suggested that the OnePlus six will sport a wood black. We are not sure whether this can be treated as accurate as the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has not yet confirmed the news. The firm had surveyed their official Twitter handle wherein they asked users if they would like to see the 3.5mm headphone jack on the smartphone. In response, the majority of the followers chose the answer yes. It seems like OnePlus believes in giving the consumer opinion, the highest priority. Therefore, the company will continue to integrate the 3.5mm headphone jack in the upcoming smartphone. The handset will also continue to sport a type-C USB cord and data transfer abilities. The smartphone will pack a rear-facing fingerprint scanning feature along with dual rear cameras.
SPECIFICATIONS
The upcoming OnePlus 6 smartphone will also go on to be home to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 system-on-chip. Earlier this year, the company had confirmed that they would be integrating the flagship processor, just like most other Android players. On the storage front, the device will sport two options, i.e. 4GB of RAM along with 128GB of ROM along with 8GB of RAM along with 256GB of ROM option. “Recent rumors have pegged the OnePlus 6 as coming to China at a price of 3,799 yuan for the 128GB model, while the 256GB model is rumored to cost 4,399 yuan, which are equal to $602 and $697 respectively, though the exact U.S. pricing will probably be slightly different,” a report by Android Headlines reads.
ANY SPECIAL EDITIONS?
According to numerous reports, OnePlus is planning on introducing a special Infinity War edition of its upcoming flagship smartphone. It will go in line with the celebration of the super hit Hollywood movie. The smartphone will make its way to international markets including India as well. There is no other information regarding the matter available as yet. We are not sure whether the devise developer will end up carrying these activities out as there is no official confirmation regarding the same.
