After Google announced the latest Android 8.0 Oreo operating system for use, HMD Global was among the first companies to promise timely updates. After over two months of testing, the firm has finally commenced rolling the Android Oreo (public version) to its Nokia 6 smartphones. Regarding size, the Android Oreo update occupies around 1.659 in both the Chinese (TA-1000) and Global (TA-1003) variants.

As noted by IBTimes, following given is how one can install the Oreo over-the-air update on the Nokia 6 smartphones. Take a look:

Step 1. Once you receive the update notification that appears on your screen, select “Yes I am in,” and proceed forward.

Step 2. The action as mentioned above will initiate the software download. Following which, you must choose the ‘Install Now’ option.

Step 3. Soon after the software has been installed on your device, it will initiate an automatic restart setting.

Step 4. Your smartphone has now been updated to the latest version of Android 8.0 Oreo operating system.

Keep in mind that: Since the OTA roll-out process is being carried out in stages, it will take a few weeks to reach all regions. Until then, device owners can check for updates manually by going to Settings >> About Phone >> System Updates >>Check for the new firmware.

What to expect in Android 8.0 Oreo update?

The latest operating system comes packed with a hoard of new improvements over the previous Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. This includes faster booting, extended battery life, incessant activities taking place in the background, increased fluid experiences and improvements regarding security. One of the primary highlights of the Android 8.0 Oreo operating system is the Rescue Party feature, which allows the smartphone to recover from constant boot loops at a faster pace. The next Nokia smartphone scheduled to receive the Android Oreo update is Nokia 5. This will be followed by many others such as Nokia 2 and three as well.
