You may have missed these announcements by Apple, but as well as details of the next-gen iPhone 4s the Cupertino giant has also announced upgrades to its iPod line-up.

Their best-seller is the iPod Touch and it’s getting a re-fresh that puts it more in line with its smartphone bigger brother. It’ll come loaded with iOS5, so you’ll get iMessage integration allowing you to send pics and messages over wifi and there’ll be access to iCloud and HD video recording. It’s also now available in white.

The iPod Touch will cost £169 for the 8GB version, with the 32 and 64 GB versions costing £249 and £329 respectively and it’ll ship on 12th October.

Also getting a face-lift is the super-portable Nano. It’ll have bigger icons on the touch-screen and you’ll be able to use it as a fitness tracker to monitor speed and distance on runs.

You’ll be able to turn the screen into a full-size clock and use it as a wrist-watch, which you can customise from a choice of 16 faces.

Coming in 7 colours, the 8GB version is £115, with the 16GB version coming in at £129.
