MSI GP72 Leopard Pro Review

Published on July 2, 2017

Lisa Gade reviews the MSI GP72 Leopard Pro 17.3” gaming laptop. This is the mid 2017 edition (model 7RE) with an Intel Core i7-7700HQ quad core 45 watt CPU (7th gen, Kaby Lake). The GP72 is available with NVIDIA Pascal graphics- your choice of GT 1050, GTX 1050 Ti (our unit) and GTX 1060. This is a relatively slim and light 17” gaming and pro apps notebook that’s the more affordable alternative to MSI’s Stealth Pro. It has 16GB DDR4 RAM, a 256GB PCIe NVMe SSD, 1TB HDD, Killer Ethernet, Intel WiFi 3168AC and a fast refresh 120Hz full HD matte TN panel with wide color gamut.

A SteelSeries RGB backlit keyboard is standard, and the 5.95 lb. / 2.7kg has a black aluminum lid and keyboard deck. Prices range from $1,200 to $1,400 depending on graphics card and there’s a 15.6” version as well. Our review loaner was provided by www.xoticpc.com.
