In 1978, Diana Nyad attempted to swim from Cuba to Florida. After 42 hours of turbulent seas and adverse currents, she was forced to abandon the effort. 30 years later, the 60-year-old Nyad came out of retirement to attempt the swim again. Plagued by tropical storms and marine predators, she failed three separate times. For her final try, a team of scientists and oceanic experts used cutting-edge technology to help Nyad accomplish the impossible.
