MultiNA from Shimadzu is a microchip electrophoresis system to quickly and easily perform DNA and RNA nucleic acid size confirmation and quantitation in life science research. Using a microchip, this system conducts high-speed electrophoresis separation automatically, while achieving high sensitivity with fluorescence detection. MultiNA automates all the processes that previously required manual work. The user only has to set a sample and a reagent and start a computer-based schedule to automatically collect data. The system can be equipped with up to four chipsets to achieve the processing speed of 75 seconds per analysis at maximum, by parallelizing the pre-analysis process and electrophoresis. The reusable high-performance microchip offers lower analysis costs than the agarose gel electrophoresis method. The costs per sample are approximately 25 yen for DNA analysis and 35 yen for RNA analysis.
