These guns are not destined for greatness, they’ve already achieved it. It’s just a matter of what they do in their retirement years. The S&W Model 15 Combat Masterpiece and Model 19 Combat Magnum show the Smith and Wesson revolver craft at its best. Their smoothness is stunning, almost taking you off guard because you didn’t know something this awesome could be made back in 1967. But they were…and earlier. Add in classic good looks, high reliability, benchrest accuracy, excellent sights, perfect triggers and balance and all the other stuff I talk about in the review and you too may become a Classic Smith convert…watch out. They still just hold six shots so you have to make them count and reload fast [shown]. Many do and did when these were carried in the holsters of both military and police. But in the realm of POUs, these are mostly collectible and enjoyment guns and they excel at that. Chamberings are .38 Spcl [15] and .357 Mag [19]. Resurrected of sorts was the S&W Classic Model 15 but was only available in small numbers it seems (which made me sad). That’s too bad, these guns are just too good to be forgotten. Maybe this will help.//////////////////////////////Nutnfancy Likability Scale: 10 out of 10
