Lisa Gade reviews the iPad with Retina Display 4th generation late 2012 model. The iPad starts at $499 for the 16 gig WiFi model and is available in 32 and 64 gig capacities (each capacity jump adds $100 to the price). It will also be available in WiFi+ 3G/4G LTE versions in the US for AT&T, Sprint and Verizon. The newest iPad features a 1.4GHz Apple A6x CPU with multi-core GPU, a gig of RAM and a 9.7″, 2048 x 1536 Retina display. It uses the same casing and design as the previous Retina iPad (iPad 3) and weighs 1.44 pounds. Apple doesn’t intend for you to run out and buy this to replace your iPad 3, rather it keeps the iPad competitive for the holiday season and brings up to iPhone 5 level performance.
