Thought 4K displays were only for the living room? Think again – Toshiba shows of its 4K mirrored bathroom display at IFA 2014. As well as this, the Japanese tech giant also demoed a next-gen 8K display.

We check out Toshiba’s stand at the IFA 2014 trade show in Berlin. 4K Ultra HD TVs are so passé now – it’s all about having a 4K smart mirror in your bathroom which reads out your vital signs while you get ready in the morning. For those looking even further ahead, Toshiba also demonstrated an 8K Ultra HD panel. 8K offers twice the amount of detail as 4K. Theoretically, the human eye cannot perceive detail beyond 8K. Once 8K TVs arrive in our homes this is about as good as it’s going to get. The Tokyo 2018 Olympic Games due to be filmed and broadcast in 8K and Toshiba is intent on being ready for this TV milestone.
