Huawei is reportedly planning on launching its smartphones in the US markets next year. If this turns out to be true, then this will be the first time that Huawei launches its device in America. A company executive reportedly told Associated Press on Monday, 18th December 2017 that the firm plans on introducing its Mate 10 in the US in early 2018.

As noted by CNET, this news was further confirmed when Huawei Technologies’ consumer business president, Richard Yu admitted that the Mate 10 line-up would be the first to be offered to US customers. He, however, refused to discuss the price of naming the carriers, who will be selling the smartphone. According to the information provided by Yu, additional details regarding the smartphone will arrive next month at the official Consumer Electronics Show scheduled to take place in Las Vegas.

For those who don’t know, Huawei has always been the kind to have significant influence in Asian and European markets due to its networking equipment. The company has only become better as the years have passed by. They have not touched the potential that the US market has to offer. This is because Huawei hasn’t gained the hold over the required brand recognition as yet. With big companies like Apple and Samsung in the market, it doesn’t seem like Huawei would have such an easy time making themselves a good reputation.

Huawei has become among the world’s largest smartphone manufacturers, and most of its credit goes to the budget phones that it has been offering since 2014. The firm began the sale of the premium category smartphone only after Mate 9 incepted. The handset has been provided on significant e-commerce platforms such as Amazon and Best Buy. Huawei is also speculated to be working on a foldable smartphone at the moment.
