Smartphone manufacturer HTC has officially begun rolling out the latest Android 8.0 Oreo update for its HTC 10 handsets. The software update is being released in the form of an over-the-air method for all the unlocked units of HTC 10 smartphone. It appears that the firm is trying to be true to their word.

According to a report published by Gadgets 360, the upcoming Android Oreo update is going to bring about significant changes to the HTC 10 smartphone. The software version 3.16.617.2 comes along with numerous default features that have already been spoken about before, such as Instant Apps, a redesigned Quick Settings Menu, Notifications Dots, the famous Picture-in-Picture mode, as well as the Smart Auto, fill option to name a few.

Along with these features, the update is also going to be carrying the latest Android security patch for any possible loopholes. HTC 10 owners must note that they might not receive the update at the same time as most others do because it is going to be released in phases for all units.

Interested individuals can check out their ‘Settings’ and ‘About’ sections in their respective smartphones to see whether the update has arrived for them or not. One can even manually get the update by directly downloading it from the official website of HTC website.

However, the manual process might end up erasing all the data from the handset. Thus, it is recommended that one opts for the automatic process. The HTC 10, to recall, had been launched back in April 2016. It has been a raging success ever since, and the firm is expected to release its successor soon enough.
