A Philosophy of Use Discussion to be referenced in table top reviews. It’s time to expand our collective minds to better calibers than typically used in military operations. Granted the .308 Win, .300 WM, and .338 Lapua are proven long range precision calibers and enjoy “economies of scale.” They do work. But they have some drawbacks, discussed here. Whether it’s SAWC, cost, ballistic efficiency for their weights, their not perfect for long range shooting in a lot of peoples’ way of thinking. Especially those who compete in challenging sniper competition shoots. Let’s learn from them. In doing so we will come to the conclusion that the high BC 6 to 6.5m projectiles provide amazing accuracy, low recoil, low flash, comfortable shooting, less wind drift, lower weight, smaller powder charges, and more reloading economy over the “military options.” The 6.5 Creedmoor is my favorite of these diminutive rounds for reasons discussed. For many 1000 yard targets, perhaps this should be your new solution to make that challenging shot. I wish to advocate the 6.5 Creedmoor and its siblings and submit this discussion for your consideration.
