Dell unveils new XPS 13 notebook ahead of CES, 2018

Device manufacturer Dell has launched a new, modern-day and compact notebook in the market that goes by the name of XPS 13. The 2-in-1 notebook is introduced at a starting price of $999.99 and is available for purchase currently. At the launch event scheduled ahead of CES, 2018, Vice President and General Manager of XPS (Alienware), Mr. Frank Azor said that the notebook had been improved in every single measure.

As for the specifications, the XPS 13 (9370) notebook comes packed with the eighth generation Intel quad-core i5 and i7 processors (two variants). The device is home to Microsoft’s Windows 10 operating system along with the assistance of Ubuntu 16.04. Other features of the notebook include the support of Intel’s UHD Graphics 620.

On the display front, the notebook sports 3,840×2,160 13.3-inch UltraSharp 4K Ultra HD InfinityEdge touch display. “It’ll be smaller than the current XPS 13, it’ll be thinner than the current XPS 13, it’ll be lighter in weight, and unlike a lot of our competitors, who have compromised performance in order to deliver smaller, thinner, lighter products, we’re actually going to increase the performance profile of the XPS 13 by as much as eighty percent,” Azor told media.

The notebook features 52WH battery. “We didn’t compromise on battery life, either … with the new XPS 13, we will deliver over 19 hours of battery life, even with all that incredible performance in it,” Azor added. On the connectivity front, the device packs two Thunderbolt 3 ports, one USB-C 3.1 port, and a microSD card reader.

According to a report by ZD Net, Storage options include 128GB SATA, 256GB PCIe, 512GB PCIe, or 1TB PCIe SSD, while docking options include the 130W Dell Dock or the 180W Dell Thunderbolt Dock. There’s also a fingerprint scanning feature embedded in the notebook’s power button.
