NASA’s Delay/Disruption Tolerant Network (DTN) is an important component of the evolving Solar System Internet that will improve communications between Earth and spacecraft traveling in deep space. This animation shows how our traditional Internet Protocols (IP) can be disrupted and cause delays or data losses, then shows how the DTN allows data to be transmitted even when there is poor connectivity.
